Zoom has become very popular. It’s great… and it’s free (they offer paid tiers, too)… and it’s also a great opportunity for crooks.
Since this pandemic started, 1700 new websites (ALL scams or malicious) have been created to feed off of this new discovery for many. 25% of those sites were created in just this past week.
They’re “bad typo” websites, as in Gooogle (notice the extra “o”) or “Googie” (see it?).
Google Classroom is also a target. So if you get a link for a Zoom conference, make sure it ends in “zoom.us“, for those in the US.
Be careful… This is a prime time for attacks against you, the public, using this Zoom popularity!
